Summer in Fatmomakke.
I still had Fatmomakke in my mind, so there had to be another painting from the same day as the previous painting, Desire. The motif this time that I wanted to interpret is the view when you have crossed the bridge to the other side and have the cemetery on your left. I found the place so calming and I stopped for a moment, looking out over the water passing by. In the background I could see some tourists who had set up their tent and parked their caravan near water. The sky showed its intense blue tone and the clouds the higher I looked up, the thinner they got. In the water, the mountains were reflected almost as if in a mirror, and just some faint ripples appeared on the surface. In the foreground closest to me there was an old stone wall that was almost completely overgrown with moss. It must have stood there for many decades, stately in its simplicity. Close to the water several plants of Rosebay Willowherb, or bombweed (Chamerion angustifolium) were growing. A plant with many different names, don´t you think it is a beautiful plant with its bright pink colour in contrast to the green of the leaves? For me it is truly a characteristic of summer in Norrland.
Small brush for fine details.
I used a small brush with a narrow tip to paint all the finest details. It is important to keep a steady hand when creating a thin line or depicting the reflections on the water surface. I hope that I have managed to do justice to this beautiful place and that I have succeeded to convey the serenity that can be found in the beautiful mountains of Vilhelmina. I have saved the painting in the art gallery Lapland summer. If you want to give me feedback on the painting, you are more than welcome to do so here or via email info@brittasart.com
