MAGIC SUNSET

Magic sunset.

It’s been a while since I published anything new and maybe you’re thinking now she’s getting lazy. It bit of it is true, sometimes one go through periods when inspiration feels a little slow and you find a thousand and one excuses to do something else. However, my painting has not completely stopped. I have painted a painting which a relative wished for. A motif that he had found and thought was beautiful. It has less detail than my paintings usually have. I was instructed to keep it simple and to emphasize the contrast between the colourful sky and the dark tree silhouettes. Said and done. For me, it’s challenging to paint a place I do not know or being familiar to. I find it easier if I recognize the place and can associate to the scenery in my mind. I therefore tried to make other associations to inspire myself for this project. I thought about a day that had been really amazing and how I felt when it was coming to an end, and I was filled with a warm feeling of gratefulness. Thinking of a day which has been very special can make you relive that moment and fill your soul with happiness. Extra magical if the sky chooses to show its most beautiful side and you can put the day into your memory as a truly wonderful day. I hope that the painting can transmit the feeling of gratefulness and happiness to the spectator.

Dark tree silhouettes.

The painting has a rectangular format and would probably fit well above a bed or sofa. My hope is that it will grace its place. I chose strong colours on this occasion; the sky has been painted in intense tones of yellow, orange and red. Each colour blends into another colour without sharp borders. In the foreground are tall trees that rise majestically towards the sky. They seem almost black as the day draws to a close and the light is fading. The painting has been saved in the category mixed landscapes in website´s gallery. if you would like to give me feedback on the painting you are more than welcome to comment here or send me an email.
