Boat house in Asturias

Boat house in Asturias.

I like to interpret places I know well and which are close to my heart. This time that was not the case, I was fascinated by a person’s story about her holiday this summer. She showed me photos and told me descriptively about her experience. I got fascinated by a boat house that she had passed during one of her walks in a village called Puerto de vega which is located in Asturias, close to the Atlantic coast in northern Spain. I immediately fell for the motif, the old grey / white boat house with a worn facade, which must have been exposed to all conceivable type of weather. The blue doors are half open and the window frames are the same colour making a nice contrast to the colour of the wall. Imagine if houses could talk and tell us their story, which would be really interesting. In the background, some houses in the village can be seen and the foreground is adorned with a slightly wild flowerbed, beautiful in its simplicity.

In the joy of creativity.

When I paint scenery that I really like, the creativity feels extra strong and I´m filled with a joy of being able to create. This time there were many different colour shades on my palette and my finest brushes came in handy for the tiniest details. I have saved the painting in the gallery on the website in the category Mixed landscape. As usual, I invite you to comment here under the blog or write an email to info@brittasart.com if you would like to.
