Waiting for a successful hunt.

A friend in northern Sweden sent me some nice photos from last autumn when he was out hunting moose. I really liked one scenery which I thought I could draw inspiration from and make my personal interpretation. I am not a hunter and no one in my family either, but I know very well the feeling of being in the forest an autumn day when the air is fresh and clear. It never feels so healthy to breathe like such a day in the woods. An old worn wooden bench standing in a glade in the forest and invites you to a nice break during the hunt or berry picking. The backpack and rifle come off and the coffee pot hangs over the open fire that crackles invitingly. Nothing tastes better than brewed coffee prepared outdoor. I think most people who enjoy time outside can agree on that. A peaceful coffee break among the old spruces which are standing tall right at the edge of the bog that spreads out towards the forest edge on the horizon. Some firewood of birch wood lies on the ground to soon be put on the fire to warm the hunter’s frozen fingers.

Beautiful autumn tones.

I really like the autumn colours that you find in the forest during that time of year. A wide range of colours but not as bright colours like in the summer. The ground is lit up by colourful leaves of lingonberry and blueberry plants. The vegetation has begun to lose its summer greenery and changed shape to different tones of yellow, orange and rust brown creating a colourful carpet on the ground.
