This artwork I painted just before the Corona crisis started throughout the world. I got a friendly request from my daughter if I could make a painting with sunflowers for her guest room. She would like to have something colourful on the wall, so therefore I started studying photos of sunflowers and environments where they grow. My motive could be in Castilla, Spain or somewhere in France. An olive tree gleams on the horizon next to an old deserted farm. The landscape is vast and open. The field is adorned with giant sunflowers that glow with its yellow intense colour tone.
Let colour cheer up in gloomy times.
A large part of the world’s population is currently in quarantine and needs a little cheering up to get through this crisis. Sometimes the news reporting becomes too heavy to take in and maybe you have relatives or friends who have fallen ill and worrying thoughts of getting it yourself is in the back of your head. It is more important than ever for people to stay positive and keep thinking there is hope. Colour has always worked like vitamin for me and maybe it can help you too. If you do not paint yourself, you can google your favourite artist and revel in colourful paintings. Why not look at my sunflowers and maybe the yellow flowers will delight you with their splendour of colour. Then you can do as the sunflower turn your face towards the sky or if the sun is up, fill your soul with hope and faith in the future. You will find the painting in the gallery, under the category mixed landscapes. Stay safe and sound.
