DUSK IN THE MOUNTAIN

Dusk in the mountain.

I got the idea for this painting from my sister-in-law who lives in the Vilhelmina Mountains near the Norwegian border. There, the days are short during the winter months, and the light is a bit special before dusk takes over and darkness sets in seriously. The pastel colours of the sky are so beautiful, and, on the horizon, you can see a mountain range towering majestically. The ice on the lake spreads out like a hall floor and reflects the beautiful colours in the sky. In the foreground, a brave spruce that grows slowly in the cold climate, a few bushes and straws that still stick out of the snow. The intense snowfall has not started yet and the snow cover is not yet as thick as it will be at the end of winter. There are a peace and splendour in this landscape, which is almost untouched by human hands.

A small painting – golf price.

In terms of size, this work of art is not that big. I had bought several small canvases before and thought that the motif was a good fit for this size. It later turned out to have another advantage when we decided that it would be the first prize of the year in our annual golf competition – JBP OPEN 2025 lottery. Practical with a small painting that is easy to transport and take with you. The winner was a happy Swede who usually spends a lot of time in Valencia. I hope you will like it too and as usual I invite feedback or comments if you feel like it. The painting has been saved in the gallery under Lapland – winter.
