I am always open for inspiration and sometimes it happens that my eyes fall on photos that appeal to me. That is how the work with this painting began and the desire to make my own interpretation of the picture. Immediately when I saw it I liked the composition, the colours and I recognised a feeling from the time I used to live in Sweden. When suddenly in the middle of the dark winter a beautiful sunny day shows up which fills you with hope of the upcoming spring time even if you know that the winter will still last a while, those days are so appreciated. You get that extra dose of light and sunshine, and a lovely blue sky to enjoy. That is a wonderful feeling.
Painting is like traveling.
For me every painting project is like making a journey together, the canvas and me. Each stroke with the brushes is a part of the trip to reach the final destination, a finished painting. Many inspiring hours I spent in front of the easel creating this piece of art. The last part of the journey the painting is doing without me because now it is moving to the place where the photo was taken and that feels really good.
