I have not yet found my continuous rhythm with my painting that I have had in previous years. I hope that during the autumn I will be able to sit down at the easel more often than I\u00b4ve done in the last six months. Enough of this, at least little has been produced in my painting studio anyway. In today’s blog I will show samples of two oval paintings that I have painted. I like the oval shape and think it makes a beautiful detail on a wall.<\/p>\n
Gray stone walls, cerise-red flower.<\/strong><\/p>\n This time I was inspired by a series of photos my daughter took during a trip to Italy. She walked along a cobbled street, with old stone houses along the way. The old facades with their uneven surface gave a picturesque impression. As a sharp contrast to the grey-beige house walls, there was a cerise, red cyclamen attached to the wall next to a door. A cyclamen is easily recognized by the bright highlights on the leaves and the flower is, of course, planted in a traditional terracotta pot .I chose to make two paintings, one where you see the flower in close-up and the other from more distance where you can see parts of the facade and a bit of the cobbled street. I painted the stone walls with a sponge so that the structure of the wall would be as realistic as possible. I imagine that these two paintings together could become a decorative detail in, for example, a staircase or in a hall. What do you feel when they look at them?
